Ali Doukali talk about his current project, style and much more

How did you come by your stage name?

My stage name, Ali Doukali, is my birth name. I don’t need to put on a front, or a show for anyone, I’m real, authentic. Down to every aspect of my being.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Originally I started in music out of a relationship that went bad. I had a fake idea about what love was, about what I wanted my life to be, through being at the lowest point in my life, I bounced back a million times stronger.

I hustled longer, I stayed up all night writing music, recording, creating new flows and rhythms. As my growth as an artist took off, I loved the self-confidence that it brought me, the reassurance in life that I was special. That’s when I really knew, I had something here, music became my world.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I don’t credit my style to anyone, that’s not to say that I haven’t drawn inspiration from other artists. My raw talent & ability to seamlessly write songs has taken me into a direction that is so unique to me. I credit myself and my ability to GRIND even when the world told me I would never make it.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

Smooth came to me by way of betrayal. I had a falling out with a close friend, someone I considered like family to me. Loyalty was broken, words were said, rumors spread, leaving me to change the way I interact with those around me today.

The bars in this song are pure, raw emotion from my perceptive about what transpired, and how those same “brothers” turned their backs in a seconds notice. This is the extermination of all ties I once had, and the rapture for all of the other rappers!

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I would say my greatest challenge working within the music industry would have to be the proper allocation of my time. It’s a rough balance between writing, recording, and promoting. I am a driven individual, I have family starving in Africa that is counting on me, so quite honestly, my hunger & dedication would be my strongest asset, what I really lean on during tough times.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I am the absolute pinnacle of Trap, Hip- Hop & Pop. There is no artist as versatile as me. You can stamp that. My bars and energy are just something that the music industry hasn’t seen yet, I’m just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up to my legend!

What are your plans for the near future?

My plans for the future are broad and vast. Currently, I am in the works with my label to further my growth and reach on the world. I will be a global icon. I will aid in building the Heartbreak on the Radio brand until we reach the absolute pinnacle, and have the ability to help out other young, talented, hunger artists.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I would like to thank myself first and foremost. For believing in myself, for creating this artist that is a true phenom. For never giving up even after hundreds of voices told me to. I would also like to give a shoutout to my brother for sacrificing his own money and time to help me build this brand into a serious powerhouse. Finally, my manager Andrew for believing in me and grinding with me throughout this long process, when a lot of people didn’t. We are building something special here.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

My suggestion for any artist is to turn up the volume in the headphones, turn up the beat, and drowned out the world. Nobody is going to believe in you until you make it, that’s just reality, and you cannot allow other words to define your dream or destiny. If you want to do anything in life, it requires unmatched energy, drive, and determination.

ALI DOUKALI NYC – A MUSICIAN PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT

THE POWER OF MUSIC

Music connects with us in so many ways. It’s a way to evoke memories and reminisce in moments in our lives. It lets us escape reality and boosts our mood. From rock-n-roll to rap, to country, to alternative, and everything else in between, we can all agree there’s something that we all enjoy. Music is healing. It’s our way to express our emotions and acts as a therapeutic remedy. We can all think of particular songs or albums we love… and it triggers an emotional response. It might take you back to your first love, a heartache, a family outing, a wedding, or something that simply reminds you of a person or place. When you take a look back on your life experiences, destinations you’ve traveled to, and the people you’ve come to know, genuineness should be the common thread throughout those years.

BECOMING SOMETHING

Recently, J&J Studios had the pleasure of heading over to NYC and being Ali Doukali’s professional music photographer. Ali is an artist, songwriter, and author with major victories under his belt. It was an absolute blast shooting this talented artist. He and his manager, Andy Biros, make a remarkable team. You can check out his new single Smooth – and be on the lookout for his new album release! He is a lyrical genius. The genre is a hip-hop/rap mix that is bound to be on your next playlist. This new track was recorded at ID Labs, where they have worked with clients such as Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Ariana Grande, and other famous artists. A massive win for him. Be sure to follow Ali on Instagram to join his journey and to stay tuned with new tracks.

The meaning behind his new single Smooth reveals a betrayal from a close friend Ali once trusted. The song expresses raw emotions from his experience – and with that, Smooth proclaims he will no longer be a doormat for his haters. For him, composing music and recording is his gateway to preserving memories. Crafting a song and it finally coming together is the purest part of a job.

Although the release date is not specified, the song will be available on different music platforms. In recent few months, he has gained a lot of audience due to his modern voice in hip hop, dancehall, and trap music.

Most of the songs of Ali are packed with emotions especially after passing through a very emotional incident. A few years back, one of his best friends died, which led him to have depression and anxiety. A best friend is someone who becomes a part of yourself, with whom you share every special moment and someone who appreciates and motivates you in every aspect of life. Losing someone that close is like losing a part of life. Eventually, you will be able to move on, but you will feel a missing part in yourself. Ali has also moved on, but you can feel his emotions for his friend in his every song, and we all know that emotions are the greatest selling point of the music. It helps you connect to your audience.

Ali’s previous song Smooth was a way for his audience to listen to his continuous fight of betrayal, trust, and fake friendship. In the cover of the song, Ali presented himself as Julius Caesar just moments before the time of his dishonorable death at the hands of his most trusted allies. In the track, Ali refers to the moments of sharing meals with his friends at the dining table, and those same friends then turned their backs on him in a few moments. The entire song is a true masterpiece of genuine emotions and became one of his greatest hits.

South Jerseys rising trap star Ali Doukali, set to debut new single

South Jerseys rising trap star, Ali Doukali opens up about trust issues, betrayal, heartbreak, and much more prior to his much anticipated upcoming release “Smooth” set to debut Friday, July 31st.

                                                                                               (Ali Doukali’s “Smooth” cover art)

South Jersey-based phenom, Ali Doukali gets real about the trails and tribulations that have plagued him throughout his life, and adolescent music career prior to his much anticipated release on July 31st.Having got his start in arts by publishing a novel two years ago, Ali seamlessly transitioned into writing songs not shortly after. Always having a passion for music since childhood, Ali recounts days his grandmother would teach him the subtle ways of executing notes on her favorite classic songs, this not only laid the foundation for his future in music, but also accounts for his somewhat natural ability to change pitches on his most popular tracks. The true start to Ali’s career as an artist however came in the form loss. The death of a close friend a few summers ago, spiraled Ali into depression, where ultimately he found music as a way to express all of the painful emotions he was dealing with at the time

Off the record, Ali referenced that his musical journey truly ignited from the ability to morph written expression, into vocal renditions.

“Most of my first works were somber pieces, songs that really highlighted the pain I was enduring throughout that time period of my life. I used it as fuel. As my growth as an artist began, the exploration of my talents somewhat unhinged, and as I grew more comfortable in my own skin, I began truly creating records that had more of a pop, bouncy feel to them.” Ali adds, “I really morphed myself into a well-rounded artist.”  With hits like Pablo a Narko it’s hard to argue with this upcoming star, as his debut video launched November of 2019 featuring on Billboard sound, and later grossing over 100k views on his channel in just months.

Ali’s new single Smooth is a direct window for all listeners into this artists constant battle of friendships, betrayal, and trust. In the cover art, Ali depicts himself as Julius Caesar just moments prior to the Roman giants notorious death by the hands of his most trusted allies. In the record itself Ali references instances of sharing meals at his families table with close friends who turned their backs on him in just seconds. Ali also claims to have given the shirt off his back to those who never deserved it. From start to finish, Smooth is a true masterpiece stemming from genuine emotions.

Ali Doukali’s music can be described as unique, unbothered, and exotic. His music transcends all boundaries and has a liberating vibe that the listeners can’t resist. Ali inherits a wide range of flows, melodies, and versatility that he attributes to his immigrant parents.
